A 71 is a vertical sculpture of 18 x 18 x 41 cm in which upcycled paper and books are stacked into a narrow column and enclosed in plexiglass. The edges of the pages remain visible on every side, some still carrying fragments of printed text, so that the object keeps the memory of the reading matter it once was while becoming something else: a small architecture of layered paper. Slight shifts between the layers give the column an irregular, almost organic outline. The plexiglass case protects the work and isolates it, presenting printed matter as material and volume rather than as something to be read.
