Two Kinds of People Amber (2026) takes its premise from a distinction Corine van Voorbergen draws between those who see night coming and those who see day arriving. The composition is a single gradient, from a bright amber at the top to deep brown below, and can be read in either direction: as light fading or as light returning. Part of her monochrome works, in which one concept is produced in different sizes and each size only once, the 130 cm disc is built in layers of pigment on wood and finished with a thin coat of epoxy that reflects the room. A hand-polished brass ring seals the work.
