Centered Amber translates the concentric structure of Corine van Voorbergen's Centered into a warmer register. Rings of pigment move outward from a glowing core and darken toward the perimeter, so that the composition reads as both expansion and return. The Dutch artist works intuitively with mixed media, wood and pigments, allowing the trace of each layer to remain legible in the finished surface. Its gloss draws the surroundings into the work, and a hand-polished brass ring seals the edge. Within a practice devoted to the circle as a figure of eternal movement, the 140 cm piece locates stillness at the centre of that motion.
