Dew Dawn is one of two related works in which Corine van Voorbergen ties colour to a time of day. A violet field brightens toward the centre and deepens at the edge, its finely textured ground visible beneath a layer of resin. The Dutch artist builds each piece intuitively from layers of pigment on wood, seeking through colour, depth and texture the chemistry she observes in nature. The resin holds that process still and reflects the surrounding space, while a hand-polished brass ring seals the 80 cm disc. The title names a brief natural condition; the work gives it a fixed form.
