Guillaume Grando (Supakitch)'s Mononero Aqua extends his ongoing Surface and Depth practice into a freestanding volume, translating the rippling, reflective quality of open water into a solid, three-dimensional block. Built through layered mixed media and finished with a polished resin surface, the work retains the illusion of continuous liquid movement across a fixed mass, so that the object reads simultaneously as still and in motion. Its depth of twenty centimetres allows the surface pattern to wrap around the form rather than remain confined to a single plane, extending Grando's close relationship with the ocean and its shifting light into a sculptural register. Set on a slender metal base, the work occupies space as an object rather than an image, testing the boundary between painting and sculpture.
