El Mar, 140 x 70 cm, is a wall piece in chrome-plated stainless steel with an irregular outline and a surface worked by hand into fine, rippling relief. Pepe Valenti developed the series from his graduation project at the Design Academy Eindhoven in 2022, an installation of mirrors intended to create an immersive moment within an urban environment. The wall pieces carry that intention into smaller spaces. With a depth of only 7 cm, the work relies on its surface rather than its volume: reflections are bent by the curvature of the metal, so that the room appears in constant, fluid movement.
