NB 122 is a compact field of upcycled cardboard, 65 x 80 cm, in which small elements are set upright and packed together in warm brown tones. The surface has a dense, granular quality. Nature and architecture are among the sources Guy Leclef draws on, and this work can be read between the two: a constructed order that never becomes fully regular. Its moderate scale suits close viewing, where the individual pieces of cardboard, with their cut edges and slight variations in height, remain clearly visible and catch the light differently across the surface.
