CD 52 is composed of small blocks of upcycled paper and magazines arranged in rows across a field of 132 x 150 cm. Each block differs slightly in width and length, and it is this variation that gives the grid its irregular, shifting quality: no row is quite aligned. The near-white palette lets the relief be defined by shadow, each block casting a fine dark line beneath it. Set within a white frame with rounded corners, the surface changes noticeably as light moves across it during the day.
