CD 64 is a square work of 120 x 120 cm in which upcycled cardboard, bound with paper cord, is laid in four triangular sections that meet at the centre. The pattern recalls the woven rush seat of a traditional chair, a reference to craft that suits the artist's hands-on method. Guy Leclef works through repetition and patience, and here every band is placed to keep the geometry clear while allowing the slight irregularities of the material. The raised cord gives the surface a strong relief, and the diagonal lines lead the eye toward the centre.
