CD 48 is composed of three panels of differing size, assembled into a square composition in three distinct shades of grey. Guy Leclef builds each surface from hand-cut strips of upcycled paper and magazines laid in tight horizontal rows, with paint giving each panel its own tone. The rounded frames keep the three parts distinct, while the rows of strips run in the same direction across all of them, so that the work reads both as a whole and as a set of separate fields. His practice can be seen as poetic recycling: discarded printed matter becomes a textured relief whose depth changes with the light.
